Joined the implementation team and contributed as an individual engineer to relationship maps connecting resources and hosts with golden signals and correlated undesirable behavior.

The core mapping capability was subsequently reused across New Relic for map and relationship visualizations and became an important platform capability.

Event-driven ingestion and fleet control

Independently designed and authored an event-driven ETL ingestion architecture that would compress agent workloads before network egress and provide remote configuration of agent fleets through a consistent control plane.

The engineering architecture organization rejected the proposal because it diverged too far from the existing technology and ingestion layers. Reducing ingested bytes also conflicted with the prevailing per-byte pricing model.

Jillian independently authored the ETL, compression, and remote-configuration architecture and believes its concepts influenced work that later became New Relic Fleet Management. She left before that later initiative was completed, so no ownership, delivery, or participation in the later work is claimed.
